Remembering Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Today was our first night back at the pool after the summer break.

This is usually an exciting and joyous occasion, but tonight was marked by an element of sadness. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has passed away, and we are in a period of national mourning.

Serious consideration was given to postponing tonights session, but it was felt by the staff and committee that the session should proceed, as Her Majesty was a keen supporter of children and sporting activities. Her husband Prince Phillip, His Majesty King Charles III, and The Prince of Wales, HRH Prince William, were and are all avid divers. Holding Presidential positions within BSAC over the years.

It was therefore agreed that tonight would continue with a reflective mood. To that end, at the start of the session, a minutes silence was held by staff and students to reflect on Her Majesty’s life and the dedication she had to our country and the rest of the world.

I was deeply saddened that due to work, I was unable to attend, but I was there in spirit, and I am very proud of the students for taking the moment so seriously and respectfully.

Thank you to you all.
